We Are Learning To…
In class students will continue working on writing sentences. Students are working on correct pencil grip, and correct letter formation. When your child is writing at home, please help guide them to using a proper grip. We will be focusing on making sure we have spaces between our words and that capital letters and periods are in the right places. Students are working on spelling words carefully by sounding them out and by using the word wall and word charts to spell words correctly. Students will also begin exploring how to write a recounts of their daily lives using First, Then, Next, and Finally to connect their ideas. We have also started writing a letter to a grade one friend at another school. Anytime that you can continue this writing practise at home is time well spent! Get your child making Holiday Cards, writing letters to family members, creating stories of their own - you name it! There is lots to writing about!
